Illustrator Jen Corace was born in New Jersey, and grew up there for a very, very long time. She thought a lot about the Jersey Devil, her brother's fat hands, and how to properly operate a bumper car. Then came the awkward years, which were very awkward for a very, very long time. Now a full-fledged adult with a BFA in Illustration from RISD, Jen can be found in Providence, RI thinking a lot about the flawless nature of toast. She is finally a master at bumper cars but is unable to properly operate any other type of licensed vehicle. In-between all of the thinking and pondering, Jen has done all kinds of work for Cricket Magazine, The Portland Mercury, and Sound Collector; and record covers for Red Square Records, A Boy Named Thor, Fern Knight, and Jen Turrell. Her work shows in galleries across the country. Little Pea was her first children's book, but she has since gone on to work on many others, including Little Hoot and Little Oink.
