Maggie Riegel
RISD ’93 [Industrial Design]
Maggie Riegel is director of design and product development at Artland, a New Jersey-based company that specializes in glass tableware, barware and serving pieces. A versatile designer who is involved at every step of the development process, from concept work to manufacturing details, she is recognized for using new techniques (such as glass-on-glass) to propel the company to its spot at the forefront of the industry. Riegel is also involved in licensing, and since joining Artland in 2002 she has secured important agreements with Williamsburg and the National Trust for Historic Preservation, whose properties and collections have been the inspiration for 40 of the company’s product designs.
