Andreu Osika
RISD MID ’03 [Industrial Design]
During the summer of 2002, while working towards his master’s degree at RISD, Andreu Osika interned with Vessel Inc., a housewares design and development company in Brookline, MA, that now produces his Candeloo rechargeable lamps. He has come to see design as, “the necessities of function and the desires of form in balance.” After becoming interested in graphic design during a visit to Poland (his parents’ native country), Osika earned a BFA in graphic design from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Prior to attending graduate school, he worked as a graphic and interactive designer at Organic, Inc., and Tanagram, among other studios, and has been running his own studio (www.osikadesign.com) since 1996.
