RISD ’99 [Furniture Design]
Designs by John Cave can be seen everywhere from mass-market outlets such as Target, Urban Outfitters and Wal-Mart to specialty toy stores and museum shops. He got his start in furniture design, winning first prize in the Chair for the 21st Century competition sponsored by American Leather, which produced his whimsical Bon Bon seat; Evian later selected his graphic design work for its consumer website. Today, whether he’s working on product packaging or toy design, he aims to “bring wonder and joy to the consumer on some level every day.”
