Thea Izzi
RISD ’91 [Jewelry]
Artist Thea Izzi loves the challenge of, "creating a calculated as well as natural grace and rhythm," in her hand-fabricated jewelry. Emphasizing form, space and movement, she works out of her studio in Oakland, CA, to create a luminous glow in her hollow-form pieces. In works such as this Three Gold Bowls necklace, made from sterling silver, 22K gold and oxidized bi-metal, the interior reflects off itself in a brilliant display of light. Works by Thea Izzi Jewelry Design can be found in numerous galleries across the country. The recipient of a Fulbright grant to study in Florence, Italy, she also earned first place in the 2004 Niche Awards competition.
