Alissia Melka Teichroew
RISD MID ’04 [Industrial Design]
A native of the Netherlands, Alissia Melka-Teichroew attended the Design Academy in Eindhoven and worked in product, interior and graphic design there before entering RISD’s graduate ID program in 2002. Her work includes furniture design and fabrication for the 100% Design Fair Rotterdam, do-it-yourself furniture plans for an interior design magazine, set and costume design for opera, packaging design and housewares. Melka-Teichroew has exhibited recently at Gallery SMOLL in Eindhoven, the Netherlands; Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan, Italy; the Accent on Design fair at the Jacob Javitz Center in NYC; and Apartment Zero gallery in Washington, DC. Her designs have also been featured in the Dutch art and design magazines ELLE Wonen, INVIEW, Keramiek and UITKRANT.
