RISD '89 [Industrial Design]
Matthew Bird owns a little shop on Wickenden Street in Providence (www.thecuratorium.com). He has designed and manufactured giftware, tableware, jewelry, house wares, and stationery sold throughout the US in galleries, museum stores, and gift shops. In addition to teaching in RISD’s Industrial Design department, he is frequent lecturer and guest critic both on campus and off. Highlights of Matthew’s career include being guest juror for the American Craft Council, being a live American Craft exhibit in Tokyu department store in Tokyo, Japan, and receiving a Retailer of the Year award from DG&A Magazine.
