Linda Zelenko is the owner of innovative product and interior design firm York Street Studio (www.yorkstreet.com ) with her husband, Stephen Piscuskas ( Brown ‘81). York Street is launching their technology division with a collection of made in the USA wired products for the home, Gimme Power: Helping Hand is the first in the series, it was originally a remote control holder Linda designed for the Ritz-Carlton but it was their 17 year old daughter Ana Piscukas’ concept to bring hi-tech and hi-style together in this unit.
After graduating from RISD Linda worked for Charles Jourdan in France as an in-house designer for Charles Jourdan and Christian Dior giving her the base of knowledge of traditional footwear making and forward-thinking design for the fashion world. Subsequently continuing her career in footwear she worked for Reebok, Adidas International, Burton, innovating product concepts, developing new materials, streamlining the manufacturing process in order to bring exclusive, forward-trending products to market. She taught a footwear design course for 5 consecutive winter courses at RISD.
Ergonomic design with the influence of Marc Harrison among others, Linda is a product development visionary, able to drive conceptual ideas to actual completion in an immediate time frame. Her extensive experience in development, sourcing, production led her to Taiwan, China, Korea, Indonesia, Thailand as well as throughout the USA. For York Street Studio, Inc. she created the brand’s product lines sold both to architects/designers and directly to consumers and she has created exclusive leather products for Ann Sacks, Kohler, Kallista, Robern. Her imagination and unique vision continue to keep the York Street brand ahead of the latest fashion and lifestyle trends.
