The delicate lines of Carla Caruso’s gold and silver jewelry reflect her fascination with designs found in nature — “the curl of a vine, the fragile suspension of a new leaf.” A native of New York City, she also finds inspiration in the urban landscape and, for her Shakespeare Collection, the rhythms of poetry and the romance of poetic heroines. Caruso (www.carlacarusojewelry.com) has created jewelry in collaboration with glass artist Josh Simpson and has produced work for several prominent New York designers, including Ten Thousand Things. She now lives in Northampton, MA, where the woods around her studio continue to provide fertile ground for her creativity.
