If it waddles, bounces, flies or flops, Liz Goulet Dubois (www.studiodubois.com/liz) just might have designed it. “Toys are my true medium,” says the senior designer at Club Earth, a Cumberland, RI-based toy company that specializes in nature-themed playthings. Her research and development work takes many shapes, from plush penguins and plastic pigs to foam fish and resin reptiles that can be found in zoos, aquariums and museum shops around the world. Dubois has also illustrated several children’s books and has put her characters into action in award-winning films. One of her films, the 1989 animated short Go To Your Room, won more than a dozen awards at film festivals in the US and Europe. She lives in Scituate, Rhode Island.
