Tamar Kern

RISD MFA ’01 [Jewelry + Metalsmithing]
Tamar Kern is the founder of Alloy, a design studio and showcase for the fellow artists she met through her graduate studies in RISD’s Jewelry + Metalsmithing Department. Her own work commemorates cultural rites and the passage of time through such signature pieces as stackable rings that incorporate the stones from old jewelry into custom designs. Offerings, her award-winning line of commemorative vessels, has been exhibited in New York, San Francisco and Philadelphia, and was featured in articles in The New York Times and The Boston Globe. Kern has also been recognized with an Emerging Artist Grant from the American Craft Council.
